10 (More) Reasons You’re Not Rich

posted by progobbler in October 23rd, 2008
in Financial Freedom, Investing

Wednesday, October 1, 2008 provided by Jeffrey Strain

Many people assume they aren’t rich because they don’t earn enough money. If I only earned a little more, I could save and invest better, they say.

The problem with that theory is they were probably making exactly the same argument before their last several raises. Becoming a millionaire has less to do with how much you make, it’s how you treat money in your daily life.

The list of reasons you may not be rich doesn’t end at 10. Caring what your neighbors think, not being patient, having bad habits, not having goals, not being prepared, trying to make a quick buck, relying on others to handle your money, investing in things you don’t understand, being financially afraid and ignoring your finances.

Here are 10 more possible reasons you aren’t rich:

The dynamics of making money on blogs are changing. FAST!

posted by progobbler in September 29th, 2008
in Blogging

Similar to anything else in the business world, your business must be adaptable to change. Change should always be welcomed. Change is good. As we’ve seen through the year-and-a-half that we’ve been blogging, the “Make Money Online” dynamics have definitely evolved. Blogging as a way of earning an extra income was very good a year or so ago and probably even better two years ago.

This time around, we’ve crossed many hurdles, jumped through loops and tackled all obstructions to keep on earning the income that we get from blogging. I believe that this is also a result of the global financial crisis that is going on right now. Advertisers are not as willing to put up the money just to link to their site from any blog. They are now looking for quality blogs that have high visibility.

The main qualities they look for include but are not limited to the following:

  • Your blog must be written in English
  • Your blog must have high-quality content
  • Google Page Rank Rating adds value to the opportunities that you receive
  • Your blog should have good quality traffic

If you are new to blogging, think of a niche that you would enjoy writing about. Think of better ways to keep your site content relevant to its theme and give your site the professional look and provide the space needed for proper advertising. Don’t clutter it with graphics that are confusing to the readers.

The best thing to get your site noticed is by making certain your blog is updated on a regular basis.

Passive income should be your main goal. Writing paid posts is a good way of earning an income but then again, the requirements keep getting tighter and tighter. Should you choose that route, make sure that your written content is original and not copied from the advertiser’s website.

If you keep up with these simple rules, you should meet success in the near future.

Zenni Optical is becoming a household word.

We’re all about saving money. We’re not cheap but we like to keep the money we work very hard for. It’s not rocket science and you can always find ways to save. You can save on groceries by using coupons, or shopping online for the best deals. Why is shopping online sometimes much cheaper than going to a brick and mortar store? Because they pay a lot less overhead and not only does it benefit them, it benefits you as well. At times, even with the shipping and handling included, you still come out saving money. If you wear eyeglasses, you know well how much eyeglasses cost these days. The designer frame that you want could cost you hundreds of dollars. Adding to it the tinting, bifocal lense and you end up paying more. Why not check Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni? They are the companies we are speaking of. With own manufactured designer frames coming to you directly with no middlemen - you are sure to rack up savings. We saw a family one time with four kids all wearing eyeglasses - could you imagine the money that family could save if they go online and shop? I would suggest that they take a good look at Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses.Save money where you can and build your nest egg faster. The company’s true-to-their-word, no-non-sense advertising was so good that Zenni Optical was on FOX news!

How to skip automated voice service when calling anyone.

posted by progobbler in September 20th, 2008
in Uncategorized

A lot of people probably don’t know this.  I am so annoyed by the automated answering service where they make you press so many buttons before you can speak to a Customer Service Representative.  “If you want the transaction in English, press 1!”    That is just so annoying.  I don’t have time to go through the whole “Press this and Press that” instructions!   I just want to speak to a live person!!

Guess what?!  I’ve discovered a trick that gets you to a live person faster.  These automated answering service are pre-programmed to get you to a CSR.  For example, if you’re calling Comcast - it will ask you for the last four digits of your Social Security Number, then it will even try to determine your problem.  Sometimes, it even acts like a a real person saying, “Alright, what are you having a problem with?  Say something like, internet connection…”   WHO CARES!  Get me to a live person!

So, what I did was this.  As soon as I’m done providing my personal information for identification, I will usually say, “CUSTOMER SERVICE.”  It will try to ask you more questions but if you say “CUSTOMER SERVICE.” again, it will direct you to a live person.  Yes, that easy!

If you’re calling a company and you receive one of these automated answering service, just remember to mention CUSTOMER SERVICE twice and you will get to a CSR.

Great tip huh?!

Blogging your way to the bank. The power of five.

posted by progobbler in August 23rd, 2008
in Gratitude

We at Progobbler are not complicated people.  We enjoy what we do, and we make money while doing it.  There are no pretentious notions, no I’m-up-here-you’re-down-there attitude.  We are who we are and we are having a ball.

A little over a year ago, we decided to open five blogs.  This, as a result of one research we had done while having a blog convention at home.  We received a list of high-paying  keywords on Google.  You would have thought we found the sunken treasure.  Progobblers opened five blogs that day without any proven result on what and how it’s going to pan out.  Are we really going to make a profit?  Is this the right way of doing things?  Many unknowns.

Fast forward a year-and-a-half later.  We’ve made $13K from all that blogging has brought us.  Advertisers and paid advertising in each post have created a nest egg that one wouldn’t have known existed if we hadn’t done what we did.  We are not saying that it will work the same way for all of you, but blogging has provided us an income sufficient enough for anyone who would like to earn a bit of extra either to supplement their current income - or to be able to afford the luxuries of life.

We have done both.  We are proud and we would like to continue to help others to achieve the same things.  Watch out for our “Multiple Streams 101″ series this fall.

Good luck with all your endeavors!

Do social marketing services add value to your blog?

posted by progobbler in August 14th, 2008
in Affiliates, Blogging   Tags: IZEA, Social Spark

If you are a blogger, you must belong to at least one social media marketing group. It is an effective way for your blog to be recognized in what they now call, the “blogosphere”. Every website owner works hard to get enough traffic on their site. Whether it is a personal blog or a blog that you use for business, you wouldn’t complain if you get more traffic would you? :D

We’ve learned throughout the one year we have been blogging that social media marketing has contributed much to our generated traffic. Because you belong to these groups, you are more visible. IZEA and Social Spark are samples of social media wherein bloggers are invited to review products or services and at most times, get to sample new products before they are even available in the market. By joining these types of services, you are more likely to receive additional traffic because there are other publishers and advertisers who belong to these services that browse through member sites to see what everyone is up to. If you haven’t signe up yet, we suggest that you do so now most specially if you are very new to the world of blogging. We have our results from joining these services and we say, “not bad!”

Entrecard - Good or Bad?

posted by progobbler in August 14th, 2008
in Blogging

We are running an experiment right now to determine whether Entrecard hurts or help your blog.    The benefit of advertising through other blogs may have brought traffic to your site but did it bring you stable traffic?  How about other Entrecard users dropping cards on your blog.  Would you consider that substantial?

We will be posting a poll here to find out what other people think.  It would be good to understand for the benefit of our readers and hey - for us too!

Everyone deserves a second chance…take out a Personal Loan.

posted by progobbler in August 13th, 2008
in Making Money   Tags: debt consolidation, personal loans, poor credit

When you’re trying to become financially free, you have to clean up everything that you have that’s hindering you from achieving that goal. Whether it’s tightening your belt to afford the basics or shaving off unwarranted expenses, you have to constantly do something to reach that goal.

Personal Loans Mania affords people with poor credit, the ability to get their life back on track. You can still manage to consolidate whatever debt you may have that is causing you not to be able to become financially free.
Personal Loans, if handled properly, can be very beneficial to someone who feels they are already trapped in debt. Consolidating debts used to be harder for people with bad credit. Having poor credit used to be like a chain that holds you back from breaking free from financial burden. Not any longer. If you need to reach your goal and have poor credit, you may now apply for a Personal Loan to regain control of your life.

There is always a way for people who seek financial freedom and that includes you.

Rating of Money-Making Opportunities on the web.

posted by progobbler in August 10th, 2008
in Blogging, Financial Freedom, Making Money   Tags: , online opportunities, rank by ROI, rankings

jfa1035l.jpgWe have been blogging for over a year and we’ve tried many opportunities online. We discovered some to be more profitable than the others and some that are not even worth it at all. We’ve come to a conclusion that in order for you to find the right opportunity for you, you must try them at least once. If it doesn’t perform the way you wanted it to work - you may need to move on.

The best thing about trying all sorts of opportunities is that you discover your game. It’s not about how much but how easy it is to make a profit from these programs. There are surprising results to some opportunities where over a year ago, they didn’t make us enough income to even clutter our blogs with it but after a year or so, and some tweaking by the program developers, we found that you can still make a profit from them if utilized.
